What is Valerian Officinale Essential Oil?

Second component of the SLEEP & STRESS essential oil synergy :
Valerian officinalis.

It is more commonly called "catnip"!

Its essential oil is extracted from the roots of the plant known for its calming and soothing effects. It acts as an anxiolytic.

It helps reduce stress and anxiety , improve sleep quality and relieve the nervous system.

Valerian is often taken as a dietary supplement for its sedative properties .

In addition to its mental health benefits, valerian is also used to relieve headaches , menstrual pain , and digestive upset .

Different routes of administration

🌿 Olfactory way : not recommended alone for its very particular smell. In association with other oils such as lavender augustifolia.

🌿 Cutaneous way : you can also mix a few drops of valerian essential oil with a vegetable oil for a massage of the wrists then the temples. Combine it with another essential oil to mask its smell.

🌿 Internal route : pour 1 to 4 drops in a teaspoon with virgin rapeseed oil.
1 drop maximum/10 kg/day in 2 to 3 doses, i.e. 7 drops maximum for a 70 kg adult.
